Legends is an annual, literary journal. The goal of this collection is to bring awareness to the hundreds of talented writers that live among us. It is also our intent to assist writers to build their platform and their reputations within the global writing community. Writers may submit from anywhere on Earth... but they must submit in English! Submissions are only accepted through this electronic portal. Paper submissions are NOT accepted. Multiple pieces of writing must be submitted separately. Please do not group several submissions into a single document!
Contributors wishing to achieve the goal of publication may submit short stories and anecdotal essays of not more than 10,000 words; or poetry of not more than 50 lines.Writers may submit up to eight pieces, and they may mix styles (poetry, prose, personal essay), if they choose. Grey Wolfe Publishing accepts simultaneous submissions, and pieces previously published, as long as original copyright ownership can be provided, if requested.
This is a special edition focusing on living spaces and those who dwell within them... Write a short story, poem, or essay about a living space… a house, an apartment, a hotel room, a hospital room, or any other space where people (or animals) might dwell. To add extra “edge” you might consider spaces like bridge underpasses where homeless people live, or caves, tunnels, or other hidden spaces that someone might call "home".
Write from the point of view of the living space. How does the space see those who dwell within the four walls (or whatever boundary is evident)? How have those who occupy the space changed or improved it over the years? Has the space been neglected and left in disrepair? And if so, how has the space been impacted by this neglect?
If the space could make a request (or several) of its inhabitants, what would those requests be, and why? Give your living space personality, depth, intellect, and emotion.
As long as your submission meets the above criteria, it can be set in any time period and in any location. There are no specific restrictions on what can or cannot be included.
However, erotica and sexually explicit materialwill NOT be accepted for this anthology. Your submission should exclude explicit sex; explicit drug use; graphic violence against women, children, or animals. (If you are unclear regarding these exclusions, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for clarification and approval.)
Submissions will only be accepted electronically through the Grey Wolfe Publishing Submission Portal (blue button below). Accepted formats are Open Office, MS Word, or RTF. Paper submissions will not be accepted.

You may submit as often as you choose, but each submission must enter the portal separately. Files submitted with multiple stories/poems/essays in a single file will not be accepted.
